What Level Does Charcadet Evolve In Pokemon Scarlet And How To Trigger It
8 September 2026 | 19
Charcadet is one of the most intriguing Fire-type additions in Pokemon Scarlet, capturing the interest of trainers early in their Paldean journey. Many players naturally assume this fiery child Pokemon grows stronger and evolves after reaching a specific level through battle experience. However, leveling up alone will never transform Charcadet regardless of how many battles it wins.
Does Charcadet Evolve at a Certain Level?
In Pokemon Scarlet, Charcadet does not have a required level threshold to evolve. You can trigger its evolution at Level 1 or wait until Level 100, as the process relies entirely on a special story item. This unique mechanic gives trainers complete freedom over when to evolve their companion without worrying about missing key stats.
Because level requirements do not apply, players can obtain Charcadet's powerful evolved form, Armarouge, relatively early in the game. All you need to do is gather the required regional materials and locate the specific non-player character who trades the evolution item. This flexibility makes Charcadet a versatile addition to any mid-game team structure.
How to Get the Auspicious Armor in Pokemon Scarlet
To initiate Charcadet's evolution in Pokemon Scarlet, trainers must obtain a special evolutionary item known as the Auspicious Armor. This item is exclusive to Scarlet, whereas Pokemon Violet players receive the Malicious Armor for Ceruledge instead. Obtaining this relic requires collecting materials from wild Bronzor roaming the Paldea region.
Trainers need to collect 10 Bronzor Fragments by defeating or capturing wild Bronzor found near ancient ruins across Paldea. Areas like South Province Area Three or Asado Desert are ideal spots to hunt these Steel/Psychic-type Pokemon efficiently using the Auto-Battle mechanic. Once you have gathered ten fragments, head directly to the town of Zapapico.
Triggering the Evolution Process
In Zapapico, locate an elderly man standing near a fountain who requests Bronzor Fragments in exchange for a curious heirloom. Handing over the ten fragments rewards you with the Auspicious Armor item immediately. The trader allows you to repeat this process if you wish to evolve multiple Charcadet later on.
To complete the transformation, open your Bag menu and navigate to the "Other Items" pocket where the Auspicious Armor is stored. Select the armor and use it directly on your Charcadet just like a traditional evolutionary stone. Charcadet will absorb the armor and instantly evolve into the Fire/Psychic-type knight, Armarouge.
Preparing Armarouge for Battle
Evolving Charcadet into Armarouge equips your team with a formidable special attacker possessing strong defensive capabilities. Armarouge learns signature moves like Armor Cannon, which deals massive Fire-type damage at the cost of slight defensive stats. Planning your move pool carefully ensures Armarouge remains a core pillar during difficult gym battles and endgame content.
